M Kharge Enters Well Of Rajya Sabha, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar Reacts

Rajya Sabha chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar today expressed anguish over Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge entering the Well of the House.

"I am pained, I am shocked. The Indian parliamentary tradition will deteriorate to such an extent that the Leader of the Opposition will come to the well, the Deputy Leader will come to the well," he said.

'Let House Function Smoothly': Deve Gowda Amid Uproar Over NEET

Amid an uproar in the Rajya Sabha over the NEET issue, senior JD(S) leader HD Deve Gowda today appealed to the opposition members to let the House function smoothly.

Intervening during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address, he said the government cannot fix responsibility until the probe in the matter is completed.

"I do not want to take sides. The government has taken the right decision (to order a CBI probe)," the former prime minister said.

He said the investigation is not yet complete and the government cannot fix responsibility until it is completed.

Rajya Sabha proceedings have beenadjourned again, this time till 2 pm, amid uproar by opposition parties over the NEET issue.

After the Lok Sabha was adjourned till Monday amid ruckus in the House over the NEET issue, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said that they have made it clear that they will give detailed information on whatever issue is raised.

"We assure the members once again that the Government is always ready for discussion. But by halting the proceedings of the House, the tendency adopted by Congress party - of not letting the House function - is not right... I condemn this. I appeal that those should not happen again," he told reporters.
